Fox Valley Robotics / Batavia Robotics Organization

Fox Valley Robotics/Batavia Robotics is a non-profit organization aimed at teaching students in 1st-12th grade STEM concepts through robotics. FVR teams participate in competitions run through FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and IFI VEX Robotics.

FVR consists of three divisions:
LegoWolves for students in 1st-3rd grade and participate in FIRST LEGO League Explore program.
LegoDogs for students in 4th-8th grade and participate in FIRST LEGO League Challenge competition.
Coyotes for students in 8th-12th grade and can participate in IFI's VEX Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competition.

Fox Valley Robotics was started in 2002 at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, Illinois as a team of six 6th and 7th grade students. By 2006, FVR had expanded into three 6th-8th grade teams- LegoDogs Division- and two 8th-12th grade teams- the Coyotes Division. For the 2011 competition season, the LegoDogs Division expanded down to 4th grade. In 2012, FVR introduced the 1st-3rd grade program, LegoWolves.

FVR/BR is a volunteer driven organization. Parents and/or mentors coach individual teams with support from the division coordinators and other parent coaches. Summer programs are coordinated by, and staffed by, volunteers from the FVR/BR organization and divisions.
