This Skills Only event will be time slot defined.
Time slots are 2 hours and the team will have the opportunity to choose 1 time slot to attend.


Any remaining state spots will be filled from the IL VEX Skills rankings.

One of our goals is to provide a safe and healthy event for people to attend.
We ask that all people attending use common sense and respect for their fellow human beings to determine if they might have Covid, flu, RSV, or any other contagious condition and to refrain from attending the event.

If a team is unable to attend the event, notify the Event Coordinator as soon as possible.'

In the event that a team can not attend due to unforeseen circumstances the day of the event, please call the number provided in the registration packet emailed in the week prior to the event.

All team participants (players, coaches, and mentors) must complete the linked Participant Release Form as instructed on the form. The form will be applied automatically to every official REC Foundation event the team registers for during the current season.

This only needs to be done once each season for each participant and each team. Each time a team registers for an event, the consent forms previously uploaded for that team will be applied to the new event registration.

NOTE: You will need to provide the EXACT team number associated with the student and the type of program. (i.e. 1234A) for the online form.

General Guidelines
• No roller or roller-blade shoes allowed.
• No open-toed shoes allowed in the pit area or competition floor.
• Internet access is NOT available.
• No smoking or alcohol is allowed in the facility.
• Wireless hot spots are NOT allowed in any part of the facility. Any detected hot spots will be shutdown.

Parking is located on the north and east sides of the school.
The cafeteria is the pit area and the competition area.

Teams should plan to arrive 15-30 minutes before their time slot begins.

Each team can claim an open table for their pit area.

Power stations are located for each charging. Label your equipment for easy recognition.

Safety glasses are required.

Any cutting or loud noise should be performed in the atrium at the designated power tool area.

This is a Skills Only event and no judging will be conduced.

Inspection
Inspection
Teams are encouraged to go through inspection as soon as they are ready. Teams must go through:
- Hardware inspection and robot sizing
- Software inspection
- Field connectivity and verification; optional, but highly recommended.  (Tournaments Only)

Assume the total inspection process per team takes approximately 30 minutes including wait time. Please plan accordingly.
Hardware and software inspection checklists are located in the back of the game manual.

General reminders:
• Robot must fit into a 18"x18"x18" box. No extra parts may extend out the side or top.
• No sharp edges or un-filed metal
• License Plate holders are required
• Team number should be visible from opposite sides of the robot.
• Wiring should be neat and contained in the area of the robot.
• Main battery power control button should be easily accessible.
• Bill of materials (BOM) should be completed. In the event that a robot part is questionable, cite the rules reference or forum reference for validation.

In order to participate, you must pass inspection.
Download the VRC Inspection Checklist and make sure you pass before coming to the event.
Fill in this form and bring to the inspection area along with your robot.

  • Have the attached inspection sheet filled in
  • Robot + controllers
  • Safety goggles
  • License plates

Practice Field will be available. 
Game elements will be provided and should not be brought with you.
Be courteous of other users wanting to use the practice field.

Time Slots
Time Slots

Organizations/Teams must sign up for a time slot.

Time slots are 2 hours each and a team is allowed only 1 time slot.

Schedule your time appropriately during your slot.

You should have time for minor fixes, changes, practice, and scored runs.

 

If you have multiple teams and want one slot, indicate all the team numbers and the corresponding quantity.

If you have multiple teams, multiple time slots to break your teams apart are allowed if it makes your managing easier.

 

Time slots defined:

9:30am-11:30am

12:30pm-2:30pm

3:00 pm-5:00pm



 Team contacts will be sent an email to sign up for a 2 hour time slot before the event.

Come with a ready to run robot.

 

Arrive 15-30 minutes before your time slot and check in.

Confirm your attendance at the Registration table.

Find a table in the pit area.

Pass inspection as soon as you are ready. Bring the attached inspection sheet filled in.

 

Run maximum 3 autonomous and 3 driver controlled runs.

 

Repeat the following steps for running your robot and having it scored

Grab a number when you are ready to run.

Notify the Referee if you are running autonomous or driver control
    if you plan to end early and want this time recorded, notify the referee
Validate the score with the referee before leaving.

Help to reset the field.

Go back to the pit and make changes, fixes, and updates to your robot to perform better if needed.

 

When finished or at the end of your time slot, clean up your area.

Have a safe trip home.

 

All runs must conclude by the end of your designated time slot.

Scores will be posted throughout the day on a local monitor for viewing.

 

All scores will be finalized and uploaded to www.robotevents.com shortly after the conclusion of the event.

Any spots still open for the state competition will be filled from the IL season skills rankings.

Two sets will be available for pickup immediately after the event with two additional sets available some time later.

Payment is required at the event with cash, check, or credit card.

 

You can let us know you are interested in a set by sending an email to us or letting concessions know when you arrive.

Pre-ordered pizza is available on a per team basis.
This will be included in an email sent to you.
Individual pizza slices will be available during your time slot.
