Fox Valley Robotics hosts a FTC qualifier in January.
Qualifying teams have a chance to continue to the Illinois FTC State Competition.
The event schedule is:

  • No roller or roller-blade shoes allowed.
  • No open-toed shoes allowed in the pit area or competition floor.
  • Internet access is NOT available.
  • No smoking or alcohol is allowed in the facility.
  • Wireless hotspots are NOT allowed in any part of the facility. Any detected hotspots will be shutdown.

Team Check-in
After the doors open at 7:15, the coach of the team checks-in at the registration table located just inside the entrance doors. The coach turns in the Team's FIRST consent forms or a the STIMS roster and a copy of the team information sheet. In return, the coach receives a "welcome packet" with information as well as a judging time and room assignment.
The coach can also turn in the pizza and drink order form to the registration desk.

Judging Interviews
Judging Interviews
Judging Interviews are scheduled when the team checks-in at the registration desk.
Each team is required to have a judging interview in which they bring their robot and engineering notebook to the time slot.

Teams are encouraged to go through inspection as soon as they are ready. Teams must go through:
  • Hardware inspection and robot sizing
  • Software inspection
  • Field connectivity and verification
Assume the total inspection process per team takes approximately 30 minutes including wait time. Please plan accordingly.
Hardware and software inspection checklists are located in the back of the game manual.
General reminders:
  • Robot must fit into a 18"x18"x18" box. No extra parts may extend out the side or top.
  • No sharp edges or un-filed metal
  • Flat holders are required
  • Team number should be visible from opposite sides of the robot.
  • Wiring should be neat and contained in the area of the robot.
  • Main battery power control button should be easily accessible.
  • Bill of materials (BOM) should be completed. In the event that a robot part is questionable, cite the rules reference or forum reference for validation.

Each team will have a 6' cafeteria style table for their pit area.
Power is provided at the pit tables.
The majority of pit tables are located on a raised stage which is only accessible by stair. Additional, accessible pit tables are located on the competition floor. If the team prefers a floor level pit table, please notify the event coordinators by Wednesday prior to the event.

Concessions at the Batavia FLL Qualifier opens at 8am.

Lunch items for sale might include:
  • Pizza by the slice

Beverages for sale throughout the day might include:
